Cactuar Island is a small island located south of Esthar; it is recognizable by it being a desert with a randomly appearing (and disappearing) cactus. This "Cactus" is the Jumbo Cactuar, a cactuar that has grown to an immense size.
Defeating this Jumbo Cactuar will lead to it joining you as a Guardian Force.
This island is available to you on Disc 3 when you have the Ragnarok.
This quest is available until Disc 4 (Return via Portal)

Boss information:
Boss is weak to Water only and is not damaged by Gravity.
Boss has an attack called "10,000 Needles" that deals 10,000 damage to a single party member.
When Boss gets low on HP it will say "Jumbo Cactuar is hesitating..." meaning it is going to run away; you must defeat it fast or you will have to start again.
Hints:
Leviathan can deal up to 9,999 damage so is a go-to GF to summon and boost.
Water magic is also useful.
One party member should be designated as "Medic" with abilities such as Revive, Full-Life, Life, Curaga, Item command etc. Do not attack with this character.
